HS Retreat Speaker
Aldo graduated from the University of North Florida in 2015 and attended Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Abby, were involved in RUF in college and have loved it ever since. They have one son: Winston, who always fills their home with laughter. Aldo enjoys reading, cycling, and watching his beloved soccer team: Liverpool FC. Aldo joined RUF in 2019 and is excited to be the campus minister at USF! Aldo is excited to be at the Southland HS Retreat because he loves talking about Jesus and is looking forward to all the bad “where’s Waldo” puns.
RUF @ FSU WORSHIP TEAM
HS RETREAT WORSHIP LEADERS
We are the worship team for RUF. We play at our large group meetings on Tuesday nights and some of the weekend retreats that RUF attends. Brett is a business major graduating this summer. He plays guitar, keys, and sings. Lucy is a criminology major graduating next winter. She plays violin and sings. Isaac is currently working in the electrical business. He plays guitar and sings. Sam is on staff with the student ministry at our church. He sings and plays the ukulele. John Michael is also a criminology major graduating next winter. He is our tech guy. And Ryan is our former intern for RUF at FSU who has since moved to Orlando but decided to reunite with the band for one weekend only. He plays drums and sings. We all have a lot of laughs and enjoy leading worship each week.
WHAT TO LOOK FORWARD TO…
There is so much to look forward to as you begin to make plans for our HS Retreat. Below gives you a snapshot of what to expect when you arrive. Feel free to contact the HS Retreat Director Brown Peterson with any questions you may have: [email protected]. If you have questions about registration, then please email Brandon Lutz: email@example.com.
We will worship through song and God’s Word on Friday evening through Sunday morning. There is something unique and powerful worshipping in a room with students from across the state of Florida.
Camp Southwind offers some fun activities for us to enjoy: lake activities, “Flying Squirrel”, field games, covered basketball court, and more. There are also a few local springs and state parks for you to enjoy during free time. Southland will also run a few friendly sports tournaments throughout the weekend.
CONNECTING WITH YOUR CHURCH
Through conversations on the ride up, church huddle time, to the late-night talks in your rooms, relationships will be forged and deepened throughout the weekend together. Rest assured your group will leave closer together than when they arrived.
CONNECTING WITH THE CHURCH
One of the greatest parts about Southland is the friendships that are created between students, leaders, and churches. These bonds will carry out into their college experience, encouraging them to visit RUF, and enjoy life with.
